We offer both a private taxi service, and public shuttle service from Lake Tekapo to Mt Cook.

Lake Tekapo – Mt Cook One Way – Private Taxi

Price: $500

Passengers: 1-3 passengers including luggage. Extra passengers are $100 each up to a maximum of 10 passengers

Lake Tekapo – Mt Cook Return – Private Taxi 

Price: $1000 including 5 hours waiting.

Passengers: 1-3 passengers including luggage. Extra passengers are $100 each up to a maximum of 10 passengers

Pickup: Anywhere within the Lake Tekapo Township. 

Mt Cook dropoff: The Hermitage Hotel, White Horse Hill Campground (Start of the Hooker Valley track), Tasman Glacier viewpoint carpark, or any combination of the three.

Lake Tekapo – Mt Cook Return – Shuttle

Price: $160 per person including 5 hours of waiting.

This Service requires a minimum of 4 passengers to operate.

Itinerary:

  • 9:00 AM – Depart from Kiwi Treasures Gift Shop & Information Centre (Tekapo)

  • 10:30 AM – Arrive at The Hermitage Hotel (Mount Cook)

  • 1:30 PM (Optional) – Shuttle from The Hermitage Hotel → Tasman Glacier Viewpoint

  • 3:00 PM (Optional) – Shuttle from Tasman Glacier Viewpoint → The Hermitage Hotel

  • 3:30 PM – Depart from The Hermitage Hotel Entrance

  • 5:00 PM – Return to Tekapo

(Note: The shuttles at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM are optional for those wishing to visit the Tasman Glacier viewpoint.)

*To ensure a smooth journey for all guests, the shuttle bus cannot wait. Please be sure to arrive on time at the designated pickup point.
